Alpha Tau Omega – Murray state University
Project Zeta – Leaving a Lasting legacy
Safety and Code Compliance:
It focuses on essential, often unseen, upgrades like modern electrical wiring to prevent hazards, new plumbing for leak prevention and efficiency, and enhanced security measures including smart locks and alarm systems. This foundational work ensures the house is safe, stable, and ready for the next 30 years of brotherhood.
Recruitment and Competitiveness
Murray State is a competitive environment. A modern, well-maintained facility is a critical recruitment tool that demonstrates chapter health, alumni support, and a commitment to excellence.
Industrialization for Longevity
Standard residential kitchens and bathrooms are not designed to accommodate the frequent use by large groups. Commercial-grade appliances, durable countertops, and robust fixtures will be installed to help minimize future repair costs and maintain the house’s functionality over time.
Continuing a Lasting Legacy…

The Alumni and Housing Association purchased the Chapter House at 101 N 16th Street in June 1967.

On May 9, 1992, exactly 33 years after the Zeta Lambda Chapter was chartered, Alpha Tau Omega held a ceremonial groundbreaking for their new chapter house in Murray. This event, part of Founder’s Day activities, included participation from President Kurth, Jeff S. Taylor, David Graham, charter member Dwain Taylor, and approximately 40 other alumni and active members.
The construction was completed in early August 1993, allowing the active chapter to occupy the new house for the start of the Fall 1993 semester.

33 years after the active chapter occupied the new house we need to focus on the next 30 years:
Essential Systems & Safety
upgrading critical building systems and improving safety
Modernizing High-Traffic Areas
renovations for kitchens, bathrooms, and flooring.
Enhanced Livability Features
outdoor amenities, new furniture, and study spaces to create a welcoming, versatile living environment.
Leaving a Lasting Legacy.
Securing Our Future.
